Basra before the Muslim conquest in the reign of Omar Ibn al Khattab.. occupied by the Persians and the Turks, the British and burned Zinj and Qaramita

Basra opened during the reign of Caliph Omar ibn al-Khattab the year 638 AD after it was ruled by the Persians. It became one of the most important cities in Iraq.
