Iraq has a land rich in oil, one of the major oil-exporting countries, which are spread wells north and south. The most important resources: petroleum and natural gas.
Iraq's oil reserves occupies second place in the world to 13.64 billion tons.
Before the Gulf War, Iraq was transported oil from three ways:
** Pipeline traversing Syria and either up to Tripoli in Lebanon or to Banias in Syria.
** Pipeline heading to FAO any that connects the Persian Gulf and finally to Silaan via Turkey.
